Every Child Matters

Orange Shirt Day, September 30th, is a day to remember the children who were sent to residential schools, the ones who survived, and the ones who never came home. It grew from the story of Phyllis Webstad, whose new orange shirt was taken from her on her first day at school. The colour has carried the meaning ever since: every child matters.

This is a day for all Indigenous peoples across Canada, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit, and for everyone who chooses to learn, listen, and remember.
