The Children Are Coming Home, the 2026 Every Child Matters Orange Shirt Day design by Deanna Samuel, Ditidaht, Nuu-chah-nulth. On September 30 we honour the children who never came home from residential schools, the Survivors who did, and the families and communities still carrying that loss.
In the artist's words, the design speaks to children returning in spirit, memory, and healing. Home has always known their names, even when the world tried to forget them.
